Husqvarna Recalls Lawn Tractors; Parking Brake Failure Can Cause Loss of Control

The recalled Craftsman power lawn tractor is gray colored, has 19.5 HP engine, automatic drive, and a 42 inch cutting deck. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall. The model and serial numbers are located on a model plate under the tractor's seat. Models Craftsman 917.289080 Craftsman 917.289081 Serial Numbers 012709A001000 through 031209D999999. Recalled by Husqvarna Consumer Outdoor Products N.A. Inc., of Augusta, Ga.. Units affected: About 8,200.

The tractor's parking brake can fail posing a loss of control hazard.

Consumers should stop using the recalled tractors immediately and contact Sears for a free inspection at your home and, if necessary, a free repair of the parking brake cable. Sears is directly contacting consumers who purchased this product.
