Product Description

The recall involves the Olympus VG-170 Digital Point-and-Shoot Cameras. The VG-170 measures about 4 x 2.5 x 1 inches, weighs 5.1 ounces and comes in white, black or red. "VG 170" is printed on the top of the camera, on the side opposite the shutter button. "Olympus" is printed on the upper right hand corner of the front of the camera, "5 X Wide" is printed on lower left hand corner of the front of the camera. The camera has a 3-inch digital LCD screen on the back.

Reason for Recall

An improperly installed part can touch the camera's circuit board, posing an electric shock risk to the user.

Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled digital camera and contact Olympus for a free inspection and repair.
